New iPhone App Targets Urban Blight
A new iPhone app aims to reduce urban blight by allowing users to snap photos of neighborhood graffiti, potholes, etc. and send them directly to city hall. The app and for-profit company are called City Sourced.
On the surface the app seems great, but scratch a little deeper and phrases like 'Orwellian' and 'Police State' come to mind. Not to mention the socio-economics of who does and does not own an iPhone.

The iPhone is an Internet and multimedia enabled smartphone designed and marketed by Apple Inc. The iPhone functions as a camera phone (also including text messaging and visual voicemail), a portable media player (equivalent to a video iPod), work from home, and an Internet client (with email, web browsing, and Wi-Fi connectivity) — using the phone's multi-touch screen to render a virtual keyboard in lieu of a physical keyboard.
