What does it mean that many of the lawmakers behind Obama’s new plan to overhaul health care have
Where are the American Protesters?
Where are the American Protesters?
With all the congressional tussling around health care reform, doesn’t it seem like the voices of everyday Americans, the ones who will truly be affected by health reforms, have been left out of the conversation? In a way, you want Main Street and Back Street Americans to stand up for this thing. How come we don’t see people protesting in the streets for what they believe is right in regards to health care? I went in search of these people, these protests, and these populous calls to action. Here’s what I found:
Thousands line up for much-needed health care in all over rural America:

Protesters demostrate to halt health care reform bill:

Protesters in Colorado show up to pressure congressman to vote for the health care reform bill:

Protesters oppose the health care reform bill in Greenville, NC:

Protesters in Bellevue, WA, some against the health care reform bill and some for a national single-payer health care system, gather in front of U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen's office:

State employees protest in favor of affordable health care in Raleigh, NC:

So even though we see more Michael Jackson coverage than real American’s protesting for and against health care reform, it seems the public debate is alive and well. Millions desperately need affordable health care, while millions want to make sure the health care they now have remains unaltered.
